Hi, I’m Nelson, and I love art and people so I am highly active around campus in organizations such as the Asian American Christian Fellowship and the Art History Association. I also work as a mentor and volunteer for the Asian Pacific Student Programs Office and I like to meet new people and am always approachable. In my spare time, I like to go exploring around Riverside, Los Angeles and Pasadena to find hole-in-the-wall restaurants, interesting specialty stores, or small art galleries. I also like to draw and I try to carry a sketchbook around with me wherever I go to doodle or sketch. Food and music also play a big role in my life because I feel that they can both bring people together. I love to cook food for people and listen to Techno, Trance and House music.
I joined Beta Phi Delta in Fall 2011 almost quite by accident. I have a couple of friends already in Beta Phi Delta and got invited to Rush. I went to an event, filled out an application and next thing I knew, I was pledging. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made because I was looking for a community service organization but didn’t know what to join or even if I had the time to join one. Beta Phi Delta showed interest in me so I joined. So now, I have a new family and found an outlet to give back to the community. You can follow me at @That_pho_boy.
