Year/Major: 2nd year Pre-Business major

My very first impression of Beta Phi Delta: “This so isn’t for me.” However, after I got a chance to know the brothers and sisters and learn what Beta Phi Delta is all about, I realized Beta is the perfect fraternity for me. Having grown up in the same town, same house for eighteen years, coming to a school that’s over 400 miles from my home was a big change for me. Joining Beta in my first quarter of college was the best decision of my college career. It has provided me a home away from home, helped me learn a lot about myself, developed the skills that have enabled me to achieve academic success, and it has been a ton of fun.

I have been involved in community service since I was young, having volunteered at the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano Counties for eight years and with the Friends of the Danville Library for five. In high school, I was also very active in other extracurricular activities, particularly in LGBT equality, environmental, and campus climate analysis and improvement efforts. In my free time I enjoy skiing, hiking, shopping, eating, sleeping, playing and cuddling with my doggy (who I had to leave at home D=), people watching, and driving my Miata (which I also had to leave at home D=).

At UCR, I am also involved in the Condom Co-op and the Honors Program, and I work as an unpaid intern at the Child Development Center.
